Slot Game Review
The Wild Wild series by Aristocrat is a great game with nice volatility and awesome tease. The series consists of four different themes with the same mechanics. Samurai and Nugget are the ones you’re likely to find on the casino floor, and Pearl and Emerald I assume are newer additions to the series.
The main chase of the game is to get a wild symbol to land on reels 1 and 2. This happens with a good enough frequency (feels like every 20-30 spins), and when it happens you’re guaranteed a win either through regular symbol pays or from the tokens you see on reels 3, 4, and 5. You’re awarded those token prizes if you can land them on consecutive reels, and let me say it is FRUSTRATING (in a good way). A regular experience is you’ll trigger the Wild Bonus, whiff on tokens on reels 3 and 4, then watch a massive set of tokens spin onto reel 5 (sometimes as large as 200 times your bet). What’s great about the design of this game is you’re constantly seeing the potential payoff, but actually realizing that potential is of course the tough part.
The free games bonus is exactly the same as the base game, except now your wild symbols offer 2x and 3x multipliers, making the potential payoff even more ridiculous. But good look triggering free games. I’ve watched someone play for almost an hour and only coming close to triggering it a few times.
One last thing I’d like to mention: Nugget and Samurai have absolutely gorgeous artwork. The newer games look great, but don’t appear to have quite the same level of polish as the first two.
